Specialist, Global Sourcing Contracts

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Global Sourcing, the Specialist, Global Sourcing Contracts will be responsible to reduce costs across all categories while capturing results by executing Long Term Agreements (LTAs). Research is critical to prepare for negotiations with suppliers. The incumbent will support Purchasing across all subsidiaries and will be responsible to resolve contractual issues as escalated.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spend analysis across all global subsidiaries
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize contract terms
  • Lead the cost reduction initiatives
  • Develops global commodity strategies for commodities in support of all subsidiaries
  • Liaise with all required departments (Quality, Engineering, Legal) to gain support for negotiations.
  • Coordinate the evaluation and selection of Suppliers
  • Clearly identify goals of negotiation in order to have negotiation mandates approved by senior management
  • Prepares Requests for proposals (RFQ) for selected suppliers
  • Conduct commercial negotiations with Suppliers (redraft existing boiler plates as required “on the fly”)
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and contribute to process improvements 
  • Ensure that the LTA is closed off with required approvals
  • Resolve contractual issues escalated to the Global Sourcing Team
  • Manage and monitor overall supplier performance and contractual obligations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in business administration, Law, Engineering, or other related degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience in of technical Sourcing, contract drafting and negotiating is required
  • Experience in multi-site manufacturing is preferred
  • Knowledge of Sourcing best practices
  • Knowledge of castings, forgings, and machining is an asset
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (LN an asset)
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial contracts is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong ability to learn
