Truck Driver

Key responsabilities :

• Operate truck in compliance with applicable laws
• Respect safety and compliance regulations
• Perform pre-trip inspection and report any anomalies to logbook and department supervisor (Maintain work equipment in good condition)
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of products
• Establish delivery route to optimize time
• Able to handle goods (drive forklift or electric pallet truck)
• Ability to work closely with shipping department and prepare purchase orders (if required)
• Establish courteous relations with customers and sub-contractors, including compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma (DES)
• Valid class 3 driver’s license
• At least 1 year in the transportation field as a truck driver (an asset)
• Good knowledge of French and English (spoken and written). Bilingual (an asset)
• SAAQ driving record without incident for the past five (5) years – must be able to be bonded
• May be called upon to perform any other duties related to the position
• Training in rigging and lifting and forklift operator (an asset)
• A practical and/or theoretical test may be required of candidates
