Optimisation coordinator

Job Description

Under the responsibility of the Senior Manager, Industrialization, the incumbent is responsible to develop/maintain integrations to support Velan’s automation/digitalization effort and maintain various manufacturing systems and/or integrations. He/she is also responsible to develop/maintain automated tests.

Primary Responsibilities:

Time study

• Create standard time study templates
• Create and execute time studies according to plan
• Custodian and manager of the standard time file
• Integrate standard times into system and process
• Responsible for product line cycle management
• Responsible for capacity management chart

Layout and standardization

• Responsible for 5S standardization process
• Responsible for the deployment of standard 5S workshops at the Montreal plant
• Responsible for 5S implementation
• Responsible for integrating equipment with services
• Responsible for coordinating Health Safety Environment and Ergonomics principles
• Coordinates layout requirements for the Montreal plant
• Update plant layout (Autocad)

Work instruction

• Responsible for work instruction process
• Responsible for FIPEC
• Responsible for standard
• Coordinate implementation plan

Efficiency / Cycle time

• Responsible for capacity / cycle time analysis per product line
• Responsible for analyses and deployment plan for rate acceleration
• Responsible for TRG / Efficiency calculation procedure

MBOM strategy

• Responsible for business standards on product lines
• Responsible for integration into manufacturing strategy

Process/Procedure documentation

• Responsible for creating processes, procedures and job aids
• Responsible for managing competency matrices (Process Planning, Methods, Production for the Montreal plant)
• Responsible for training of the Granby and the Williston Plant managers
• Responsible for documentation tree structure
• Responsible for documentation indexes and table of contents
• Responsible for documentation change management
• Responsible for coordinating current initiatives (e.g. Lapping sector update)

Other

• Manage schedule and selection process for the Montreal plant’s production team vacancies, unionized and non-unionized employees
• Conduct interviews for plant positions, unionized employees
• Participate in the induction and integration of unionized employees
• Management of Training files Production, management team, Planningcor

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in industrial engineering, project management or related field
• 1 to 3 years’ experience
• Ability to identify process inefficiencies and propose concrete solutions
• Ability to plan, organize and supervise end-to-end optimization projects, with clear objectives
• Mastery of tools such as Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen to drive performance initiatives
• Ability to communicate well with teams from different departments and coordinate their efforts to achieve objectives
• Ability to motivate teams to adopt continuous improvement practices and work effectively together
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
